2016 Tasting Notes: A robust, sophisticated blend of the classic Tuscan olives from the Marchesi De’ Frescobaldi estates—primarily of the Frantoio variety. Experience the pungency of bay leaf and the bitter astringency of artichoke; each taste delights with a firecracker sparkle that warms the mouth and follows with a long, lingering finish.
Suggestions for Use: Drizzle on fettunta (toasted bread rubbed with garlic), over warm beans and chickpeas, broccoli and romanesco, or any bitter green salad. Pour generously over grilled meats such as a bistecca alla Fiorentina (grilled sliced t-bone steak).
PRODUCER INFORMATION | The Frescobaldi family takes great care in producing traditional Tuscan extra virgin olive oil. In the early 1990's a few select estates joined together to create the Laudemio consortium, imposing upon themselves regulations and procedures for production of the highest standard of extra virgin olive oil. The olives for Frescobaldi's Laudemio are harvested by November 30th ensuring that they are not over-ripe, and they are crushed within 48 hours at the Frescobaldi Estate. Laudemio is a Latin phrase for "tribute to the Lord," or the best part of the harvest. The Frescobaldi oil carries the Laudemio label and insignia imprinted with the estate's "running Roman" logo. While admittedly a rare product of the highest quality, and expensive; Laudemio is a consistent bestseller and rated "exceptional" year after year. Each bottle is packed in an individual box which protects the oil from light.
